YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Startup Program Round I
Farah Social Foundation Start-up Competition project aims to empower, inspire and connect youth to job opportunities through building their capacities, knowledge and skills.
In September 2020, FSF invited the 20 business ideas to introductory meetings that were held at Farmville Barouk. During those meetings, FSF team was able to get to know better each team and idea. After the introductory meeting, FSF noticed that all teams needed guidance on how to structure, develop and pitch their ideas. Therefore, the 14 shortlisted business ideas/ Start-ups were invited to participate in FSF Start-up Competition phase II (Bootcamp)
In November 2020, Phase 2 of the Startup Competition kicked off with a 3-day customized Bootcamp led by trainer Fadi Naffah. The bootcamp was funded by Friedrich Elbert Stiftung in partnership with Progressive Empowerment Center. The three days accommodated an intensive schedule, composed of several moments of learning for the teams – inspirational, theoretical and practical – leading them to turn their ideas into effective business ideas.

– Value Proposition
– The Art of Pitching
– Gathering learnt information
– Pitching
The 14 teams pitched their ideas on the final day to a live jury from FSF team.In December 2020, Two trainings on market analysis and finance were conducted by Mr. Maurice Mouawad. The trainings were held at Beirut Digital District. Each training was followed up by one on one session with each team.
The 14 teams became ready to pitch their ideas in front of the jury and investors.
The pitch day was be held on April 14th , 2020, 9 teams pitched their ideas to a jury of 5 experts. The event took place in Baakline National Library. The 3 teams received seed fund are: (1) Lettuce Inn, (2) Bee’s Treasure, and (3) Bioche.
The other teams will receive technical support to be able to improve their ideas or prototype.
